Cabrillo News and Events

Mister and Miss Jaguar Pageant on January 15
ASB cordially invites all current seniors to participate in the Mr. and Miss Jaguar Pageant on Thursday, January 15.  Attached is the comprehensive application progress which is due Tuesday, November 18, 2014 on or before 12 noon to room 307.
 
There are two (2) options for the mandatory club representatives and candidates meeting: Monday, November 10  or Wednesday, November 12 during lunch in room 307. (Club Adv. doesn't need to be present). 
 
Each chartered club may sponsor two (2) candidates: 1 male and 1 female (The theme is "The Hunger Games").  If the applicant is selected to be in the pageant, a $25 fee is then only withdrawn from the club account.  Only 12 contestants are selected to be in the pageant.  Attached is an updated list of chartered clubs as of October 29th. 
 
There is a Grand Prize minimum and then some other prizes based on donations.
 
Mr. Jaguar: Senior Spirit Packet ($385) and a class ring. (The Senior Spirit Packet is attached to see what is needed by seniors).
 
Miss Jaguar: Senior Spirit Packet ($385) and a class ring.  
Runner ups will also get prizes.  Please support A.S.B. in this new adventure for Cabrillo's history.

Cabrillo Female Academy
The Cabrillo Female Academy empowers females through guest speakers, field trips, community networking, campus tours/overnight trips, community service and many other exciting and free opportunities. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday November 4 in room 1115 either at lunch or after school in room 1115.
See attached flyer for more information.
 
NOTE: Teachers wishing to chaperone any of the Female Academy's field trips/community events, please contact Ms.Sarno in Room 1115.

CAHSEE Testing
We are a week away from offering the CAHSEE exam to our CAHSEE deficient 11th and 12th graders. This will not impact our bell schedule. Students who have to test will be receiving an invite for the test next week.

Let’s congratulate our NJROTC Program again for winning the 25th annual District Masons drill competition.  They have won this event 4 out of the past 5 years.  They also won the first place money of $660.  Go, Jags!

CAHSEE Prep Classes

Attention Juniors and Seniors who have not passed the CAHSEE. There will be back to back Saturday prep classes starting this Saturday. Meet with your counselor right away to receive your ticket for the Saturday class. See your counselor at lunch time or after school. Attending 4 hours of CAHSEE prep will earn you Saturday School Credit. Sign up with your counselor today!

As we develop our college going culture, we would like all staff and students to wear any college/university gear you may have every Monday.

Seniors,

Come get help with your college applications. The college application computer lab (APP LAB) is open for drop-in support. Get assistance with your CSU/UC/Common App and other private college applications. We can also help you register for the SAT and ACT exams in December. You can also work on your CSU EOP applications. The APP LAB is open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:45pm-4:00pm in Computer lab room 505. Don't wait til the last minute, get your apps done early!
