The Port of Long Beach and Pacific Gateway Workforce Investment Network are proud to offer an outstanding career exploration opportunity for current high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the Long Beach Unified School District’s service area. The eight-week program offers hands-on work experience and mentoring at the Port of Long Beach for those interested in careers in the goods movement industry.
The program starts June 27 and concludes Aug. 19, 2016. Interns must have reliable transportation to and from the Port. Applications are available online Feb. 1 and must be submitted in person by March 1 (see attachment). Selected youth will be required to have the National Work Readiness Credential issued by Pacific
Gateway. Interns will earn $10.10 an hour and work up to 30 hours per week.

The boys water polo program were the best ambassadors of goodwill for the Moore League Water Polo season. Congratulations to them for winning the Best Sportsmanship Award in a unanimous decision by all the other schools.

The Cabrillo Senior Club will be selling Valentine's Day Gifts at lunch from Wednesday, February 10th through Friday, February 12th in front of the 500 building. For those who want their gifts delivered to their Valentine, you have the option of pre-ordering starting Monday, February 1st  to Friday, February 5th, during 6th period only. Seniors will come to classrooms during 6th period starting February 1st through Feb 5th with pre-order sheets.
