 Library Hours

The library is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on school days.
Students are welcome to study, read, “hang out” and use computers.
Special events and activities may occasionally affect the hours of operation.
Students visiting the library during class time need:

  1. A pass signed by that period’s teacher.
  2. A Cabrillo ID which is held during the period.

Library Materials

  • Three books may be checked out with a Cabrillo ID for 2 weeks
  • After 2 weeks, a book may be renewed.
  • Late books cost $.10 per school day for the days that they are late.
  • A wide range of non-fiction books which match curriculum are available as well as books for personal and recreational interests.
  • Fiction books of various Genres are available; for example, Mystery, Science Fiction, Romance, Sports, Fantasy, Manga and Graphic Novels.
  • Books in Spanish and a small collection of educational videos are also available.


Photocopying and computer printing costs $.05 per copy.

 Library Assistance

The Library Media Teacher and Library Assistant assist students in locating materials and with
the use of computers; databases of newspapers, magazines and books; the Library Catalog, Destiny
Sources for homework help in person, on-line and by telephone can be supplied.

 Library Rules

No eating, gum or drinks, with the exception of water.

Circulation Policies
  • Books may be checked out for three weeks and may be renewed, unless there is a waiting list.
  • Late books are assessed at 25 cents per school day. 
  • Reference books are due before the next school day begins and are assessed $1 per school day if late. 
  • Lost or damaged books will be charged at the cost of full replacement plus a processing fee.
