Provides you with the opportunity to explore social issues, law and government, human relations, developing leadership skills, and culture awareness.


CALJ Vision:

All students in CAL-J will have linked their educational experience to a career opportunity in a law and justice pathway of his or her choice that guides them all to be active participants in the democratic process and champions of law and justice.



To build knowledge, develop leadership skills, and uphold justice and integrity through integrated curriculum, work-based linked learning, relevant instruction and field work experiences.

       SLC/Pathways Updates on Course of Study:

1. All Cabrillo 9th grade students will be enrolled in a 4-year Pathway and will be in ACCESS.
2. CAB and CHOC will have a 4-year program along with our specialized programs (SACMAA, US, CED, and CALJ)
3. Student cohorts will be provided for each grade-level in order to provide students with more opportunities to participate in integrated projects across their pathway.
4. Students will be provided with a 4-year technical core of classes that are directly focused on their pathway.

April 25th through April 29th is CAL-J's 5th Law Week with the theme of Miranda Rights.  Students, join us after school for the following activities:

  • Monday - Dress for Success -Rm 701
  • Tuesday - Spoken Word/Art Gallery Teen Court -Rm 1006
  • Wednesday -Teen Court
The LBUSD Intramural Mock Trial event was recently held at Cabrillo. The following schools participated: CAMS, Poly, Millikan, and Cabrillo. Cabrillo placed Second and received the Top Advocate Award (Best Attorney of the Competition). No school scored higher than Cabrillo in both Round 1 and Round 2. Cal-J's Joshua Devorce had an average score of 9.25 (out of 10) and received the award. The top 3 advocates (top scoring attorneys) were also Cabrillo students.

  • Adrian Lopez (11th Grade).
