Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE)
We are committed to connect families, schools, and community as partners to advance the education of every child through parent engagement.
PIQE was founded in 1987 by Rev. Vahac Mardirosian and Dr. Alberto Ochoa in San Diego, CA. After numerous discussions with parents of a predominantly Latino elementary school regarding the conditions that prevented their children from succeeding in school, PIQE launched its first program aimed at helping parents become educational advocates for their students.
- Since its inception, PIQE has graduated more than 533,000 parents from its programs.
- PIQE delivers the Parent Engagement Education Program in 16 languages.
- PIQE has enhanced the education of more than 1.5 million students.
PIQE works closely with the California State University system to prepare low-income students for success at its campuses
