Law Week is here. The theme is The 14th Amendment: Transforming Democracy. Activities in the Teen Court Room after school:

  • Tuesday 4/25: The Spoken Word and Canvassing for Justice.
  • Wednesday 4/26: Teen Court
  • Thursday 4/27: Mock Trial and Dress for Success.

All students and staff are invited to all the after school events.

Cal-J students, attend each eligible event during Law Week and be eligible for a Law Week, raffle. Pick up a passport today at Spoken Word/Art Exhibit at the Courtroom, and turn it in at the end of the week (Friday) to Mr. Battle or Mr. Montalvo.  As part of the Second Semester Virtual Enterprise Activities, AGL students planned real world events with real world implications. Teams needed to:

  • Develop realistic goals
  • Outline the steps to implement the project
  • Address potential problems and develop solutions
  • Work with community and business leaders
  • Coordinate team activities
  • Handle challenges and solve problems

Upcoming AGL projects include:

  • Bite of Reality – Teaching personal finance to freshmen.
  • Movie Night Friday at Jaguar Stadium. Bring lawn chairs.

All 9th through 12th grade students who are interested in taking Summer School classes to make up a grade to meet graduation requirements or to fulfill college entrance requirements must register using our online enrollment system.  The online registration system is open and will continue untill May 14 at 5 p.m. Current 8th through 11th graders also have the opportunity to take a Math Summer Bridge course to help prepare them for the course work that they will be studying in the coming school year. These courses include Pre-Algebra, Pre-Geometry and Pre-Intermediate Algebra.  These courses will be taken for elective credit and the grade issued will be a Pass/No Credit.  This is an excellent opportunity to get a jump start for next year. 

Summer School Registration will begin by completing the application online at www.lbschools.net/summer.  After the application is submitted, the student and parent will receive an email with directions for selecting the classes that you plan to take during the summer. You should receive this email two to three schooldays after the application is submitted.

The Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) is a free, three week, summer program, for youth ages 14 to 17, that promotes positive leadership and personal development skills that young people can use in their daily lives. Along with Juvenile Investigations, Detectives, guest speakers from community or-ganizations, business leaders, and other government agencies, facilitate YLA. Cabrillo High School is doing “Whatever it Takes!” to ensure that our students experience a challenging and rigorous standards-based education, with real world application, and multiple opportunities for work-based learning. Along with offering multiple accelerated and Advanced Placement courses, we also have a Project Lead the Way certified engineering program, a California Partnership Law Academy, and are certified as a California Democracy school. We have designed our school around four secondary specialized and two non-specialized Linked Learning Career Pathways. These Smaller Learning Communities provide Cabrillo students with multiple opportunities to explore career pathways and to attain the skills necessary to be successful in college and career.
