Linked Learning Long Beach is recruiting rising 11th graders  (12th graders next year) for the Long Beach Summer Internship Program. The Summer program consists of structured work experiences for students in a career field of interest. These internships may be paid or unpaid. The Student Application Portal for Summer Internships is now open and will close on March 15. All Student Applications and  supporting documents are due on MARCH 15.

Application Steps:

  1. Student Internship Interest Applications must be submitted digitally and can be found at .  Complete all required fields (incomplete applications will not be considered)
  2. Submit a Resume
  3. One (1) Letter of Recommendation is required         *Upload Resume and Letter of Recommendation to Jot Form at
  4. Students will participate in a screening interview that will be scheduled after completed application and all required documents have been reviewed. The screening interviews will be conducted on April 29th, May 13th, May 20th, or May 27th. Location to be determined
  5. Students must have reliable transportation to and from the internship
  6. Summer Internship window begins June 26, 2017- August 18, 2017 consisting of 60-120 hours.

Come join the Cabrillo High School Flag Team. Boys Are Encouraged To Join. Our workshop days are March 20-23rd at 3:00 SHARP. We have a mandatory meeting on March 17th in the big gym at lunch. On the workshop days you must be ready with hair in a high pony tail with a bow (green, black, or white only). Be sure to have workout clothes and running shoes on and make sure you bring water and a healthy snack. We hope we see you there.


Attention 10th-12th graders. Do you need to make up a grade of "D" or "F" for Chemistry or Algebra 2? See your counselor right away. Chemistry and Algebra began on Feb. 14 and will run through May 9th. Classes will take place Mondays – Thursdays from 3-4:30 pm. This is not independent studies. These are teacher directed classes. If you have questions, see your counselor or Mrs. Wholey in the 1000 building.

Calling all Club Advisors and Club Presidents. Are you ready to continue the fun and make more money too? The Intercultural Faire mandatory meeting is Thursday, March 9 at 3:10 pm in the ASB room. Potential cultural performers: Come by the ASB room and sign-up. We would love to see the various cultural performances on the rally stage during the faire.


Interested in being like the steppers in the movie Stomp the Yard? Join the Cabrillo Step Team. WRAP is introducing an after school step team activity. If you're interested in learning how to be a good stepper, please stop by the Career Center to sign up with Ms. Kelly. Practice starts next week.


The Ivy League Mentorship Program Presents: Dr. German A. Enciso Professor of Mathematics at the University of California, Irvine, working in the field of Mathematical Biology and researcher at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Enciso will talk about the importance of a college education, in particular an education in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic) in the modern workforce. He will also describe outreach efforts that UCI is carrying out in Southern California.

Cabrillo High School LB WRAP Program offers: Drivers Education Course. Space is limited. There are only 30 spots available. The first 30 students showing up on the first day will get a spot. Course starts on Tuesday, March 7th in Room 1134 after school at 3:00pm.


The L.A. Pediatric Society is sponsoring the Summer Medical Career Program for 11th and 12th grade students. This is a medical mentorship/internship program that is an excellent opportunity for those interested in careers in nursing, nutrition, pharmacy, lab technician and/or physician. Application is due February 22nd, 2017. See Mrs. Archer in the Career Center for details.



The Summer High School Internship Program is open to Junior and Senior High School students in the Long Beach Unified School District service area who have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. For more information stop by the Career Center today to get all of your questions answered. Applications are now being accepted.
