Principal's Welcome

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students

I write today from our Cabrillo campus, which now has an eerie and uncharacteristic stillness about it. I would like to express my deepest appreciation to everyone for heeding Governor Newsom’s Stay at Home policy. This is truly the only way to flatten the curve of people infected and lesson the potential of impacting our hospital resources. To this end, LBUSD leadership made the decision to extend the school closure through June 11th. During this extended closure, local schools will continue to provide meals and home learning opportunities. Meals will be distributed from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm daily from the entrance on Willard Street.

Teachers will be reaching out to students via schoolloop email and Google classroom to provide home learning opportunities. Their lessons and resources have been developed to support students’ continued learning in their grade level and/or coursework through June 11th

If your child does not have access to technology to access these online resources, there are Chromebooks available for distribution. Cabrillo students can call campus for information on getting a Chromebook. All students are eligible. Information about how to access free and discounted WIFI will also be distributed.

As I end, I want you to know that our Cabrillo family is here to support you during this time. If you have a question, concern, or just need to talk to someone please reach out to a Cabrillo staff member through email or social media. These are unprecedented times for everyone and we can do this together.

Stay safe,

Cheryl Cornejo
