School Attendance

Attendance at school is mandatory and is taken daily by your child’s teachers.

Please note the following important details:

  • If a student is absent, he/she has five (5) school days to submit a note to the 100 Office for the absence to be excused.

  • A student who has an excused absence will be allowed three (3) schools days to complete any missed assignments.

  • A student who is sick for four (4) or more consecutive days, must return to school with a doctor’s note.

  • Students with unexcused or unverified absences may be assigned Saturday School.

  • Any note turned into the Attendance Office after the fifth day will be accepted by the Attendance Office but the absence will be noted as unexcused (UNX)

  • If a student feels that there has been a mistake made when attendance was taken by their teacher, the student must verify attendance with their teacher within three (3) days of the marked absence.

  • If a student will be leaving school on an early out, student must submit a note from the parent before school, during nutrition or lunch, and the note must be verified before the student can be released.

  • A student must return an early out slip to the Attendance Office within five (5) days or absence will become unverified (UNV).

  • Parents/Guardians are allowed to take students out early during the school day, however, parents/guardians will not be allowed on campus during nutrition, lunch or the last 20 minutes of the school day.

  • Parents/Guardians must show photo identification at the front gate in order to visit the campus and to have their student released to them.

  • Students will only be released to individuals on the student’s emergency contact information in our system.  Please update your emergency names as needed.

  • Students who miss 10% of the school year will be categorized as a chronic absentee student and may be required to attend Saturday School, regardless of the reason they are marked absent.  If the parent does not contact the Attendance Office, students with ten (10) or more consecutive absences may also be un-enrolled.

You can check your child’s attendance online on Parent Vue.

ParentVUE is a website that allows parents to view their children’s current and historical information, including daily attendance, detentions, grades, report cards, test scores, discipline, graduation status, preparation for college and more.  It is also a one-stop location for links to other parent services including School Loop and MySchoolBucks (school meal accounts).  With one simple activation, parents can view information on all of their children, from elementary school to high school.  Parents also will be able to update emergency card information electronically. If you need your activation codes, please see any office staff.
