College and Career Ready medallion (A-G):

Students who meet the following a-g subject requirements for CSU/UC will earn this medallion:

  • a. History/Social Science: 2 years required of a-g approved coursework, with a “C” or higher grade each semester.
  • b. English: 4 years required of a-g approved coursework, with a “C” or higher grade each semester.
  • c. Mathematics: 3 years required of a-g approved coursework, with a “C” or higher grade by the end the 2nd semester.
  • d. Lab Science: 2 years required of a-g approved coursework, with a “C” or higher grade each semester.
  • e. Language other than English: 2 years required of a-g approved coursework, with a “C” or higher grade by the end the 2nd semester.
  • f. Visual & Performing Arts: 1 year required of a-g approved coursework, with a “C” or higher grade each semester.
  • g. College Prep Elective: 1 year required of a-g approved coursework, with a “C” or higher grade each semester.

Advanced Placement (AP) Stole Awards

 

California Scholarship Federation (CSF):

CSF is a state organization that honors students with excellent grades and encourages community service.  Students apply after every semester in grades 10th-12th for membership. Seal Bearer status is presented to seniors who have earned membership in CSF for four semesters, including one semester in the senior year. Those who earn this award are honored at Senior Awards Night and will wear a CSF stole at graduation.  They will receive a CSF seal on their graduation diploma.  More information may be obtained from Ms. Romero, counselor.

National Honor Society (NHS):

NHS is the premier nationwide organization that celebrates student achievement.  Students apply once during sophomore or junior year.  Students must demonstrate achievement, as determined by the NHS Faculty Council, in the four NHS pillars, scholarship, service, leadership, and character.  Sophomores and juniors with a cumulative academic 3.70 average may apply for membership early in the fall.  Seniors who maintain membership will be honored at Senior Awards Night and will wear an NHS graduation hood.  They will receive a NHS seal on their graduation diploma.  More information may be obtained from Ms. Romero, counselor.
 

Honors (Total Weighted GPA)

Honors  

Gold Tassel, 3.0-3.49 cumulative GPA grades 9-12

High Honors 

Gold Tassel, Gold Stole, 3.5-3.99 cumulative GPA grades 9-12

Highest Honors

Gold Tassel, Gold Stole, White Gown, 4.0 or above, cumulative GPA grades 9-12

Cabrillo does not rank students.

 

White Gowns:

Cabrillo seniors earn the distinction of graduating with a white gown when they earn at least a 4.0 Total Weighted GPA that is accrued over their first 7 high school semesters.  The Total Weighted GPA includes any extra grade points earned for taking Honors and AP courses.

Cabrillo Valedictorians:

Cabrillo seniors earn the valedictorian distinction by earning straight A’s during their first seven high school semesters.
